Greetings, classmates! I hope you are all doing well. It is time for another update on the impressive achievements and life updates of our fellow 2007 graduates. Here is what some of our classmates have been up to lately.
Greg Norton has been appointed director of design at Knickerbocker Group, an architecture, design, and building firm in Boothbay, where he will lead a newly integrated department. Greg, who originally trained as a civil engineer and now holds a Master of Architecture degree from the Rhode Island School of Design, brings nearly two decades of experience in architecture and project management to this role. Congratulations, Greg!
Jennifer Magee Ribeiro was unanimously approved by the Johns Bay Coastal Alliance Education Service Center Board as the first superintendent and curriculum coordinator for the newly formed school system serving the towns of Bristol and South Bristol. Jennifer previously served as the principal of Bristol Consolidated School and a teacher/part-time curriculum coordinator at Great Salt Bay Community School in Damariscotta. Good luck in this new endeavor!
Kristine Landry is a dentist and the owner of Lincolnville Family Dentistry in Lincolnville. She was featured in the Midcoast Villager back in December. After graduating from dental school in 2011, she practiced in the Bangor area before purchasing the practice of her childhood dentist in 2015. Kristine lives in Winterport with her husband, Chad Madore, and their two children. She loves being a dentist and proving to her clients that the dentist doesn’t have to be a scary or painful experience. After reading this feature, I wish she was my dentist!
Lura Carroll Wade was recently promoted to principal at SMRT Architects & Engineers, the largest architecture firm in the state of Maine. Based in the firm’s Bangor office, Lura has been promoted to electrical engineering discipline leader, where she specializes in the design and management of electrical distribution and telecommunications systems. Congratulations, Lura!
Mark Schaub has been promoted to regional commercial banking manager for Maine at NBT Bank in Portland. Mark, who has over 17 years of experience in commercial banking, will manage the bank’s commercial lending team and portfolio from their regional headquarters in Portland. Mark previously served as senior commercial banking relationship manager at NBT and as a commercial lender at TD Bank and Farm Credit East. Mark is also a whitewater rafting guide in northern Maine, vice chair of Pride Portland!, and involved in the Equality Community Center in Portland and the Maine Real Estate & Development Association. Matthew Downs, a physical education teacher at Ellsworth Elementary-Middle School, was named the 2025 Middle School Physical Education Teacher of the Year. The award was presented by the Maine Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance at their annual conference. The superintendent of the Ellsworth School Department describes Matthew as a “dedicated educator who brings great energy and enthusiasm” to his classroom. Congratulations, Matthew!
Finally, Nick Fox has been promoted to associate athletic director for business operations at the University of Maine. Nick has been with UMaine Athletics since 2015 in the business office as an assistant business manager and was promoted to assistant athletic director for business operations in 2022. In his new role, Nick will lead the day-to-day operations of the athletics business office while continuing to serve as a sport supervisor for cross country and track and field. Before joining UMaine Athletics, Nick worked for the Portland Sea Dogs for eight years.
