September Reunion | Sept. 23-25, 2020
After receiving input from class officers and members, the Alumni Association has decided to postpone hosting an in-person Reunion 2020 gathering this fall in light of COVID-19-related concerns.
Instead, the Alumni Association is organizing online “virtual” activities and events on September 23-24 for those alumni that were scheduled to participate in Reunion 2020: the classes of 1950, 1955, 1960, 1965, 1970, and Senior Alumni.
In addition, those classes will be invited back to campus next year to celebrate in person with classmates and friends.
What to Expect in September
Using Zoom, an Internet-based interactive videoconferencing service, September’s online reunion will feature the following types of events and activities:
- Small-group online socials for class members to reconnect
- Class meetings and traditions
- Musical performances
- Virtual tours of campus locations and facilities
- Q&A with UMaine President Joan Ferrini-Mundy
- Faculty presentations
- A panel discussion featuring current UMaine students
- Presentations by Black Bear coaches
We regret that it is not practical to hold an in-person Reunion in September. However, there is a “silver lining”: the virtual reunion will make it possible for more alumni than usual to participate, including those who otherwise would not have the time or resources to travel to Orono.
Please make sure to cancel any hotel accommodations you might have made for Reunion in September.
Homecoming Reunion | Oct. 16-18, 2020
