Class of 1975 Fall Class Notes

Happy summer to all!

A reminder that the Class of 1975 50th Reunion is scheduled for September 11-13. Please note this September date, though all alumni are welcome at the October Homecoming weekend also.

It cannot be 50 years!

For us it was a busy winter with visits to my oldest daughter and grandson in Maine and with our youngest daughter in Minneapolis, plus plans for her wedding. We also spent some time on the South Carolina coast and got to watch our youngest and her fiancé curl in two events.

Lucinda Peaco Brakey sent an update: “My husband Mike ’75 and I are enjoying retirement at our lakefront home in our hometown of New Gloucester, ME. I enjoy knitting, reading, kayaking, traveling, volunteering in the local food pantry, and participating in local politics. We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary in 2024, and have four sons and 10 grandchildren.”

I was so glad to receive news from Jane Merrill Berube. She and her husband are retired and still living in Washington state. Jane retired from the Washington Department of Health. She is still directing the belly dance troupe Mas Uda Dancers and is on the board of the nonprofit Feisty Felines cat rescue. Jane and her husband are planning a trip back to Maine during the summer and look forward to wandering around campus. If anyone visits Olympia, WA, please look her up.

Please send any news to me at schweitzer53@yahoo.com. I’d love to hear from you.
