Class of 1956 Spring Class Notes

Hello, Class of 1956! Campus is beautiful in the fall — the leaves change, and the autumn air is crisp. Fall is such a wonderful time on campus. During Friends and Family weekend the grand opening of new athletics facilities took place. It’s an exciting time to be on campus!

The annual Senior Alumni Reunion occurred on September 11-13, and we were so happy to see Carroll Brown Marino (“Charlie Brown” as many of you might know her)! She flew all the way from Florida with her friend and had a wonderful time at the All Alumni Dinner. It was announced that she was the “most senior” attendee at Reunion this year. Thanks for coming, Carroll, and representing the Class of 1956!

Our Class of 1956 Scholarship Fund continues to help many students in need. As of 8/31/2025 the principal balance of the fund was over $206,000, and the market value was over $298,000! We would love to see that fund continue to grow, so we may assist future generations of Black Bears! We should be so proud of this fund and all the good it has done!

Our Class of 1956 will be celebrating our 70th Reunion in 2026! No solid plans have come together yet but be sure to check your mail and email for any formal or informal gatherings we may have or feel free to call the Alumni Association at (207) 581-1144 for updates.

Take care, everyone!
