Olympia Snowe, who was the first woman to serve in both the Maine House and Senate and the U. S. House and Senate, founded the Olympia Snowe Leadership Institute in 2013. its mission is to build confidence, raise aspirations, and encourage leadership in high school girls. Over 10 years, this nonprofit has served more than 1,400 girls from 37 high schools from every county in Maine. The girls are known as Olympia’s Leaders. The three-year curriculum’s focus is “My Values, My Voice, and My Vision.” The young women are mentored by volunteer advisors from every county and from diverse business backgrounds.

Best wishes to our new retirees, Mark and Cressey, and to Olympia Snowe for her development of the Leadership Institute.
