Hello, Class of ’04! Sports and career promotions are the theme of this season’s update. First, the sports!
Some Hall of Fame inductees were announced this past spring and summer and these inductees were honored at their respective banquets in the fall. The UMaine Sports Hall of Fame inducted former women’s ice hockey star Meagan Aarts. After UMaine, Meagan went on to have a 10-year pro career in the National Women’s Hockey League and the Canadian Women’s Hockey League. The Maine Baseball Hall of Fame is inducting new members this fall. Once of those is Mike Collar. Mike was a Scarborough High School grad and had an outstanding pitching record at UMaine. After college he spent three seasons with the Houston Astros.
On the job front, Sargent Corp has promoted Doug Morrison to vice president of operations and COO. Zachau Construction, a general contractor in Freeport, ME, promoted Adam Routhier to the role of vice president of project finance.
Congrats, everyone, on these great achievements. If you’d like to share any news with the class for future alumni magazines, don’t hesitate to email me!
