Eighteen UMaine student-athletes, more than from any other institution, earned America East Presidential Scholar-Athlete honors for their outstanding academic achievements throughout their college careers.
Representing a range of majors and the sports of track and field, swimming and diving, women’s soccer, field hockey, and softball, the Black Bear Presidential Scholar-Athletes earned at least a 3.75 grade point average during their college careers.
In addition, 16 of the 17 varsity programs achieved cumulative team grade point averages of 3.0 or better for the 2022 spring term. The Black Bears achieved a department cumulative GPA of 3.34 for the spring term. Besides that, 61 individual student-athletes achieved perfect 4.00 GPAs for the spring term.
