This month the 2019 Black Bear Road Trip will commence with events in both Tucson and Phoenix, AZ. Organized in coordination with local alumni volunteers, this year’s road trip will travel to nine states and the District of Columbia.
The first stop, on February 19, will take place at The Arizona Inn in Tucson, where alumni and friends will gather for lunch at 11:30 a.m. An alumni dinner will take place in Phoenix the next day, February 20, at 5:30 p.m. at Tomaso’s restaurant.
In March the road trip will reach The Villages, Florida for dinner and a program featuring UMaine Alumni Association President John Diamond ’77, ’89G. On March 13, Black Bears will cheer on the Red Sox as they take on the Minnesota Twins at JetBlue Park in Fort Myers, FL, for a spring training game and barbecue.
Other road trip events for 2019 include Boston, New York City, Washington, D.C.; Lowcountry, S.C.; Denver, Chicago, Houston, and the San Francisco Bay Area. Check back for more information here.
