Sarah Dubay ’97, ’00G, a member of the University of Maine Alumni Association Board of Directors, passed away on November 12, 2021. Sarah was a prominent civic and community leader who lived with her husband, Jeff Teunisen, in Bangor. Besides her involvement with the UMaine Alumni Association and Black Bear Athletics, she was a member of the Bangor City Council, chair of the Penquis CAP Board of Directors, served on the Board of Directors of the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce, and was a member of the executive committee of the Maine Municipal Association.
A scholarship to honor her was established with gifts from the University of Maine Alumni Association Board and staff, family, colleagues, and friends. The Sarah C. Dubay Scholarship Fund shall be used to provide financial assistance to deserving University of Maine (Orono) students who graduated from a Skowhegan or Bangor-based high school.
