Enrollment in MBA Program Soars

Enrollment in UMaine’s master’s degree program in business administration (MBA) has quadrupled over the past three years, according to university records.

During the fall 2020 semester enrollment was 344, 300 percent greater than in 2017, when 86 students were enrolled. This unprecedented growth is largely the result of academic and administrative changes within the University of Maine System. In 2019, a System-led effort combined MBA programs of UMaine and the University of Southern Maine (USM) to create MaineMBA, a graduate program awarded by UMaine with integrated expertise and resources from USM and other System institutions.

The MBA program is available throughout Maine and online.

“Thanks to the generous support of the Harold Alfond Foundation, faculty at UMaine, and our wonderful Maine Business School faculty, the MaineMBA has become the fastest-growing academic program in the state,” said Dr. Faye Gilbert, Dean of the Maine Business School.
