The Alumni Association is seeking a member of the class to write this column for future issues. It’s a simple task that just requires a little time twice a year. Please contact abigail.zelz@maine.edu to learn more. Here’s what’s happening:

Alison Keane has combined her business school training with her love of baking and opened Logical Sip in downtown Brewer. The café and bakery serves breakfast and lunch and features fresh baked goodies.

Mark Brunton is a resource coordinator for long-term services and supports and neurobehavioral services at the DHHS Office of Aging and Disability Services in Augusta. He reports and processes MaineCare claims for elderly and disabled community supports.

After earning her law degree, Nicole Golden-Bouchard joined Pine Tree Legal Assistance in Bangor as a staff attorney.

Brianna Smith is a student research assistant at the Advanced Structures and Composites Center on campus. Brianna earned a bachelor’s degree in marine sciences and is working on another degree in civil and environmental engineering. After graduation, Joshua Desrosier earned his master’s graduate degree at Newcastle University in England and then worked at the University of Tubingen in Germany, sorting and categorizing archaeological objects. He has since returned to the U.S. to pursue archaeological work.

Joseph Begin, of Saco, is a senior in the tax practice at Baker Newman Noyes. Also at Baker Newman Noyes, Krystal Martin is a senior in the risk and business advisory practice.

Brett Speed was promoted to loan officer at Maine Savings Bangor in Hampden.

Justin Lynch was working for the Associated Press as a journalist last December when he was ordered to leave South Sudan and was put on a plan to Uganda. South Sudan has cracked down on journalists during the country’s internal conflicts.

In sports news, Tyler Walsh is the boys’ varsity head coach at North Yarmouth Academy and Mike Allison plays for Prince Edward Island’s Island Storm basketball team.
