Happy summer, everyone.
Kayla, our oldest, graduated from UMaine this past May. It does not seem possible. Her graduation was held at the Cross Center in Bangor as Alfond Arena is under construction. I remember our commencement being at the football stadium 35 years ago. In some ways our commencement seemed like yesterday.
In April I had lunch with my college roommate, Sheri Badger. We had a great time catching up. I am so glad that we were matched as roommates. She is living in Washington state but plans to move back East in 2026.
After serving nearly 30 years in law enforcement with the Lewiston Police Department, Roland Godbout entered teaching in 2020. He teaches in the law enforcement program at Oxford Hills Technical School.
Roland works with many of his community partners in local and state law enforcement, as well as government agencies to provide students with real-life training opportunities outside of the classroom. In addition, he partners with Central Community College to offer dual law enforcement courses.
In October 2024, David M. Austin returned to practicing law full time. He had served as president and managing partner at Eaton Peabody for 12 years, and in January he joined Verrill in their Portland office. David specializes in advising clients on general corporate and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions.
Peter Chase co-authored a German I book, InterKulturell I. Maine’s Wayside Publishing published the book, which is part of a three-book series. Congratulations, Pete.
