Class 1992 Fall Class Notes

Hello, ‘92ers!

I hope you all had a great spring and are enjoying the summer sun!

After a cold Massachusetts winter, my spring started off with some welcome Florida warmth and sunshine at the UMaine Alumni Road Trip to see the Red Sox play a spring training game against the Phillies at Jet Blue Park. It was great fun for me to see over 250 Black Bears and their family members at this gathering, including Michelle Coosard Peaco! Michelle is the director of human resources and support operations of the United Cerebral Palsy of Maine, located in Bangor.

James R. Hartley used his UMaine business administration degree, Colorado-based restaurant knowledge, and family-owned seafood business experience to launch Dunstan Smokehouse in Scarborough, ME. Check out their sustainably sourced offerings at dunstansmokehouse.com.

Norway Savings Bank (NSB) announced the promotions of two of their leadership team members, Jennifer L. Cook and Richard R. Flagg. Jennifer has been with NSB since 2005 and she now is the executive vice president, head of trust & wealth management. Richard joined NSB in 2001 and is now the executive vice president, senior commercial banking officer.

The Portland Press Herald reported that Heather Finnemore Johnson stepped down as the commissioner of Maine’s Department of Economic and Community Development.

The Piscataquis Observer reported that Jack J. Clukey ’94G, the former town manager of Dover-Foxcroft, ME, is now the town manager of Pittsfield, ME.

The Franklin Journal reported that, after 20 years of service, Tracy L. Williams G, ’00 C.A.S. has retired from her position as the principal of W.G. Mallett School in Farmington, ME.

Please join me in congratulating James, Jennifer, Richard, Heather, Jack, and Tracy on their business ventures, promotions, pursuits of other professional opportunities, and retirement, respectively.

Speaking of congratulations, did you hear that the UMaine Alumni Association is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year? Let’s fill the steins to toast their 150 years of Black Bear community communication, collaboration, and connection. Go Blue!

Our class would love to hear your news! Please reach out to me via email or Facebook with your updates. Hope to see you at Homecoming in October.
