Here we are, writing our column for the summer of 2025, and our 30th Reunion is coming right up! I hope you’ll plan to be on campus on October 25th to join us — so hard for me to believe it’s been 30 years already!
Let’s get started with news of Ben Lampron. He was recently named CEO of Gassen Company, a homeowner association management business based in Minnesota. Ben is originally from Lewiston and after getting his undergraduate degree at UMaine he went on to receive his MBA at University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh. Not only has he written a book — Jumpstart Your Future — he also is a high school basketball official. Way to go, Ben!
Wesley Gerrish ’98G has a new job as principal electrical engineer within the newly formed power and utility services consulting group at Sevee & Maher Engineers in Cumberland. Congrats, Wesley!
Lastly, Heidi O’Donnell ’03G wrote a lovely piece for the PenBay Pilot back in October on her experience as an Acadia Teacher Fellow, supported by the Friends of Acadia. She was the only Maine-based teacher out of the six in the program that brought her to the interpretation and education division where she engaged with the public through various programs and on the trails. The six-week program brought her to multiple touch points at the park where she partnered with staff and local experts learning about glacial formations, helping to count crabs to support Gulf of Maine research, and learning about Acadia’s cultural heritage. Heidi says her experience will help her with lessons and that she’s “excited to share my experiences with my students and inspire them to become lifelong learners and stewards of the environment.” Sounds like a wonderful program — she encourages other educators to apply!
That’s all from me for now. I hope I get to see some of you in October!
