Crisp air, football, and Homecoming! Back-to-school time brings back happy memories of my years at UMaine—wishing the same for you.

Sergeant Alan Gillis was named the Supervisor of the Year by the State of Maine Warden Service. Congratulations!

After working as a logger for much of his professional career, Kevin Paradis has been named the plant manager of the Maibec softwood lumber mill in Masardis, ME. Maibec is North America’s largest producer of Eastern white cedar shingles.

Morristown, NJ-based law firm Riker, Danzig, Scherer, Hyland, & Perretti LLP recently elected Mick Rossignol as a partner. Mick practices in the firm’s Insurance and Reinsurance Group, litigating environmental claims, bad faith claims, and personal injury and property damage claims. After graduating from UMaine, Mick received his J.D. from Washington & Lee University School of Law.

James W. Sewall Co. of Old Town, ME, has added Peter D’Anieri, CFA, of Wellesley, MA, to its internationally known consulting team. Peter has more than 20 years of experience in forest investment analysis and portfolio management. After graduating from UMaine, Peter earned an M.S. in forestry from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and an M.B.A. from the Notre Dame Graduate School of Business.

Tim Thornton is a U.S. history teacher at Brewer (ME) High School and has returned to coaching, recently securing the position of boys’ varsity basketball coach at Old Town (ME) High School.
