Greetings, Class of ’97

Hello! Hope you all enjoyed summer! Greenwood Lake Roasters is in full swing and I’ve discovered it is never too late to shift gears, start that new career, hobby, etc., for those of you on the fence. One fun tidbit is that I’ve met some neat people in my town and have been able to contribute in some small way to the work they do to better it. There are always a variety of different ways to get involved. This leads us to our classmates currently recognized for their work. Hearty congratulations and many thanks to them as they try to better their communities!

David Bushey was named deputy chief of the Bangor Police Department reports the Bangor Daily News. Originally from Bucksport, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard after graduation and has served on the Bangor Police Force since 2003.

Angela Cole Westhoff ’98G was the recipient of the 2017 American Academy of Osteopathy’s Academy Award. This is the highest award the AAO bestows on non-physicians for their contributions to osteopathic medicine. She’s contributed to the AOA Bureau of Federal Health Programs, Bureau of Socioeconomic Affairs, Bureau of State Affiliate Affairs, and other public policy groups. She was recently appointed executive director of the Maine Dental Association, reports the Kennebec Journal.

Brent Davis was named chief legal counsel for Maine Governor Paul R. LePage ’75G. Brent served on the Governor’s Judicial Selection Committee. Prior to joining the administration, he served as first assistant district attorney in the Somerset and Kennebec County District Attorney’s office.

Pat Lloyd Kimball was appointed to the board of The United Way of Eastern Maine in Bangor, reports the Bangor Daily News. She previously was the executive director for Wellspring, a substance abuse and mental health treatment center in Bangor and a past president of the Maine Association of Substance Abuse Programs. She lives in Hermon and summers at Sebec Lake.
