Hello, Class of 1952! As this column is being written, the UMaine football team is on a five-game winning streak, UMaine hockey has started the season strong, and women’s soccer is headed to the America East Championship! New athletic facilities are being built on campus, amazing projects are being worked on by the students, important research is being done by faculty and students, and the performing arts are alive and well on campus! It is an amazing time to be a Black Bear! Be sure to keep an eye on the news for all that is new at UMaine!
Senior Alumni Reunion took place September 11-13 on campus, and those in attendance had a wonderful time! There were a variety of campus tours offered including museum tours, engineering tours, athletic tours, performing arts tours, and more! There were also special guest student speakers and panels, and the dean of the Honors College provided a presentation as well. The Reunion concluded with an amazing event, celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Alumni Association.
For some class news: As of 8/31/2025 the principal balance of our Class of 1952 Scholarship fund was over $203,000 and the market value was over $280,000! It is so wonderful to be able to report in each column how our fund is growing and assisting students in need.
