As of mid-summer here in Maine, we had our true summer expectations met with temps and humidity. Sorry that all of you “from away” haven’t been able to share with us the best of Maine! However, we expect that you have all been so busy that we haven’t heard a word from anyone about their lives or doings. So, we expect that before our next deadline you can share some news with us that will keep our memories up to date and let us share in your joys. As we write, memories of our college days continue to distance themselves and need to be carefully nurtured. Careful calculations produce the fact that 2019 will be our 65th year as alums!

Before leaving you with a plea for news that we can share, we’ll make another a plea for you to consider. If you haven’t already done so, consider a legacy in the spirit of “paying it forward.” A look at the increasing numbers of passing classmates in this magazine attests to the fact that our fellow classmate numbers are diminishing but our spirit is strong. The university would welcome contributions in any amount, including the Class of ’54 Fund. We will hope that our followers can share and profit from the same experiences that we have had the good fortune to enjoy.

Hear from you soon!
