Class of 1966 Summer 2020 Class Note

Dan Hillard’s last column appeared in the winter issue of the MAINE Alumni Magazine. Dan did a stellar job of writing the column for the Class of 1966 from 2006 until his death last December. In recognition of his outstanding work, he received the class correspondent award in 2013.

The Class of ’66 needs someone to take on the job of class correspondent in order to maintain a column in the magazine. It’s just a twice-a-year task. Please email Abby Zelz at abigail.zelz@maine.edu or call her at (207) 581-1137 if you are interested.

Tom Gledhill wrote about his two books that recently attained Amazon bestseller status. In The Big Transfer: How to Sell Your Company Without Leaving Money on the Table, Tom discusses optimizing a business owner’s position while selling.

“I’ve also developed an online course based on my book Xitpro System, speaking to business organizations, and guest podcasting,” he said.

Tom worked as a management consultant to the healthcare market before founding and building several companies. The last company, which he sold to a large public company, provided information systems to the healthcare industry.

Congratulations to Bob Woodbury ’69G, who was inducted into the Orono High School Athletic Hall of Fame last winter. After playing football and basketball at Orono High School, Bob co-captained the UMaine basketball team and twice helped UMaine win the State Series.
