Hello, classmates. With each class notes column being published, we get closer to our 50th Reunion. It is unbelievable that so many years have passed since we were undergrads.

Richard Turner ’71G, professor emeritus of biological sciences at Florida Institute of Technology, has been named Florida Academy of Sciences 2018 Medalist. This award is the academy’s highest award and recognizes Richard as a Florida resident who has “contributed in an outstanding manner to the promotion of scientific research, to the stimulation of interest in the sciences, or to the diffusion of scientific knowledge.” He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UMaine and earned his doctorate in biology at the University of Southern Florida.

In April, David Bronson of Moreland Hills, OH, learned that he was one of 25 U.S. physicians elected to Fellowship in the prestigious Royal College of Physicians of London. His induction ceremony was in September 2018.
