Class of 1971 Summer 2019 Class Note

Barbara McCarthy Allen

Hello again and here’s hoping that this finds you healthy and happy after a long winter and wet spring in New England and elsewhere. We are already planning our next get-together with you at the university during 2021, our 50th Reunion. If you would like to be part of that group doing the planning for the Reunion weekend, please get in touch with me and I will certainly keep the list growing. We would love to have you join us.

Frank Murray, now Father Frank Murray, completed his clerical studies by earning a Master of Divinity degree. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1981 at Saint John Catholic Church in Bangor. He is currently pastor of six Maine churches, and received the 2018 Theological College Alumnus Lifetime Service Award at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.

Wayne Cote has happily retired to Maine and is willing to assist with any plans for our class. Happily, we can count another author among our classmates. A. Keith Carreiro began composing the first of a planned trilogy series in May of 2014. Two novels have been published to date, The Penitent: Part I (2016), and The Penitent: Part II (2017). Part III is written and awaits publication. His series, The Immortality Wars, has been categorized as a sci-fi/fantasy thriller, a scientific experiment occurring in the 26th century. It is set within a Christian worldview. See his website: immortalitywars.com.

Not all of us have been so diligently occupied. Many of us wonder how we ever found time to work, now that we are retired and busy with family, friends, and travel. Let us know, please, where you are and what you have been doing. Your classmates would love to know!
