Class of 1973 Fall Class Notes

Greetings from the West Coast.

Robert Peabody, formerly Bridgton town manager, has been named Gardiner city manager. Congratulations, Peab.

The Maine Justice Foundation named class of 2024 Bar Fellows, an honorary organization of members of the legal profession elected by their peers. The Honorable Beth Dobson, US District Court Judge, was named a Patron Fellow, Kudos, Beth.

Terry Duddy sent me the following:

“I just retired after 45 years as a lawyer and past president of the Maine Trial Lawyers Association. After serving on active duty as a US Navy diver I attended U Maine law school and started my career with a private firm in Europe but was lured back to Maine where I was with the same firm for 40 years. I have two children, both of whom live in Maine, and one grandchild. I live in Falmouth with my wife, Kathleen.

“Probably more interesting is that I am a singer/songwriter with four albums out and sold at Bull Moose Records and which are on all streaming platforms. My most recent album, Running on Old Roads by Terry Duddy & Friends, was recently named on the television news show 207 as one of Bull Moose’s top 10 albums for Maine-based artists for 2024. The music critics described the sound as “early Jackson Browne.” My second album title is Simpler Times and the song “My Perfect Spring 1970,” I think, will stir memories in all of us who were fortunate enough to be on campus during that tumultuous and wonderful time.

Enjoy and remember.

We were all saddened to learn of Dave Mallett’s death. He left a place in our hearts. He is missed.

As always, let us know what you are up to.
