As I write the class notes for the winter issue, we are a month away from our 40th Reunion at Homecoming. I look forward to sharing stories of that day and updating all of you in the next issue!
With winter now upon us hopefully you will have a chance to see a UMaine team in action as the Black Bears on the ice and hardwood are expecting to show even more promise this season.
Speaking of the hardwood, our classmate Bob Merritt received one of the highest honors. A 7th grade teacher at the Holbrook School in Holden, Bob also served as basketball coach and over a 40-year career he made quite an impact. His dedication to the school was honored when in a surprise to Bob they dedicated the court in his name. Coach Merritt Court is now home to the Holbrook School Devils.
