Wow! Thirty-three years since we graduated from UMaine. My happy memories haven’t faded.

Bruce Nickerson is chief financial officer, treasurer, and executive vice president of Bangor Savings Bank. Bruce has been a CPA for over 30 years with a diverse background in business and financial management. In addition to his Bangor Savings Bank employment, Bruce serves on the boards of Unity College, Bangor YMCA Foundation, UpStart Maine, and Maine Health Access Foundation. Bruce lives in Holden with his wife, Sharon Ayoob Nickerson ’86.

Congratulations! Ray Jacques will be inducted into the University of Maine Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2018. Ray was the late coach Shawn Walsh’s first men’s hockey captain and led the Black Bears in scoring for two seasons while totaling 46 goals and 82 assists in 125 career games. Following his UMaine hockey career, Ray had a short stint with the NHL’s Detroit Red Wings. Ray is president and founder of New England Schooner Registered Investment Advisors in Peabody, MA.

Any REALTORS® out there? Since 1997 I have been employed in some capacity by the Maine Association of REALTORS® and have been serving as chief executive officer since 2012. It’s exciting to have a front row seat to one of Maine’s strongest economic engines — the real estate industry. Please be in contact if you’re a REALTOR®; I would love to connect in Maine or when I travel to national meetings.

Wishing you a happy holiday season 2018! Send me your news in a Christmas card. Your friends from afar want to know what you’re up to!
