Kathleen Reddy Montejo was recently elected to the board of directors of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, a nonprofit organization with more than 15,000 members worldwide. She has been the City Clerk of Lewiston since 1999.

Robert Liebow G has taken over as interim superintendent of the Hancock Grammar and Lamoine Consolidated schools for the 2022-23 school year. Rob was a former Mount Desert Island Regional School System superintendent and spent the past decade as the Rockport (Massachusetts) public school’s superintendent. A licensed captain, Rob is excited to get back to Maine and spend more time on the water. During the summer, and weekends in the fall and late spring, he has been at the helm of Beal and Bunker’s mailboat Sea Queen and the Allen Brothers’ excursion and nature cruise vessel Sea Princess in the Great Harbor of Mount Desert.

On September 11, 2022, the Stephen Ward 911 Memorial 5K race was held in Gorham. This run/walk and the Kids Fun Run benefits the Stephen Gordon Ward Memorial Scholarship Fund. Stephen was a classmate who died in the World Trade Center collapse in 2001. It was a beautiful sunny day for the race, and included uniformed emergency responders who completed the 5K course in full gear! Look for information on Facebook if you’d like to donate or to participate next year.
