Class of 1996 Winter 2021 Class Note

Wendy Churchill Fontaine won the 2020 Creative Nonfiction Prize at Hunger
Mountain literary magazine for her essay, “An Embarrassment of Riches”

Wendy works as a writer and script consultant in Los Angeles, CA, where she
lives with her husband, James Visconti, and their daughter, Angela.

Robert Westerberg G of York High School was named the 2020 York County
Teacher of the Year by the Maine Department of Education and nonprofit
Educate Maine.

Tanya Downing Smith is a fourth-grade teacher in Mechanic Falls. She and her
husband, Ryan ’95, live in Auburn.

Matt Snow, who majored in studio art/multimedia, wrote from San Francisco:
“After leading art and UX on mobile games at Zynga and Jam City for 10 years, I
took a position as VP of Design at RigUp. I lead product and brand design for this
Austin company that places energy workers.

“I’ve had a successful career leading design at multiple companies, and I owe it
all to ASAP Media Services at UMO. Michael Scott led our mighty team. We
learned essential multimedia skills that set us up to be leaders in the web 1.0
space.”
