Class of 2002 Spring Class Notes

Hello, Class of 2002!

Jason R. Favreau recently retired from the board of directors of the Maine Real Estate & Development Association (MEREDA). Jason, a certified public accountant and principal in BerryDunn’s tax services team, has been a key figure in Maine’s financial and real estate sectors. His leadership and expertise have left a lasting impact on the organization.

John W. Lewis has taken the reins as executive director of the Manufacturers Association of Maine. With nearly two decades of experience in workforce development and a deep commitment to Maine’s manufacturing community, John is poised to lead the organization into its next chapter. He’s also co-founder of Synergy Workforce Solutions LLC and a regular contributor to Mainebiz.

Travis R. Kennedy is making headlines with his debut novel, The Whyte Python World Tour, which hits shelves June 24. The book, a wild ride through the 1980s rock scene mixed with Cold War espionage, has already caught the attention of Paramount Pictures and is being developed into a film. Travis, who has worked in Maine government for years, is now transitioning to full-time writing. His work has appeared in Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine and other notable anthologies. 

Emily Cain ’25 Ph.D. was a panelist at the All Maine Women Centennial Celebration in April. Emily is a senior strategic advisor at Third Way. 

Charlyn E. Foster has joined Cheney Insurance, bringing nearly 20 years of industry experience. With degrees in small business management and business administration, Charlyn is known for her personable approach and dedication to client service. Outside of work, she enjoys time with her three children, volunteering, and exploring Maine with her partner, Michael.

Paul T. Melrose ’04G and his company, Compotech Inc., were honored by the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce with the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Award. Based in Brewer, Compotech continues to push boundaries in engineering and technology, making Paul a standout in the local business community.
