Class of 2005 Spring Class Notes

Greetings, Class of 2005! I hope many of you were able to make it to our 20-year Reunion and are hanging in there through the beginning of the new year.

New hires in our class include Katryn Mitchell, who was promoted to vice president of the Knickerbocker Group in Boothbay. Knickerbocker Group is a design-build firm in Boothbay — Katryn was previously operations project manager. Brian O’Coin was appointed to the Piper Shores board of directors. Piper Shores is a life plan retirement community in Scarborough. Brian is senior vice president and commercial market manager at Maine Community Bank. Congratulations, all!

In athletics news, Paul Butler ’05G, ’23 Ed.D. was inducted into the Class of 2025 Maine Basketball Hall of Fame. Paul is the principal of Bangor High School, played three years of varsity ball at that school, and attended Colby for undergrad. At Colby, he was a four-year starter. The UMaine Sports Hall of Fame for this year also featured one of our classmates. Brandon McGowan, a defensive back for the Black Bears, also played for the Chicago Bears and New England Patriots. Way to go!
