Class of 2006 Summer 2019 Class Note

Liz D’Ambrose Mason

Hey, Class of 2006, I hope you all are doing well! I recently started a new career as a real estate agent with Weichert Realtors in Moorestown, NJ. We’ve moved a lot and it’s really exciting to now be able to help others through the process. At the last open house I hosted, I met a couple whose son had just started as a freshman at the University of Maine. We had a long chat about the school and how he is so happy there — it was fun to make that connection here in New Jersey!

In other career news, Gregory Moore is now the head coach of the Chicago Steel of the United States (Junior) Hockey League. Prior to taking this position, he was an assistant coach for the United States National Team Development Program.

Elana Mugdan is a published author! Her debut novel, Dragon Speaker, was first published overseas, and is now available here in paperback and eBook format from Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and other retailers’ websites. Her second book, Dragon Child, came out in May. They are the first two in a five-book series of young adult fantasy novels entitled The Shadow War Saga.

Another author is Gillian Hall French, whose first book for teens, Grit, was nominated for an Edgar Award. It won the 2018 Lupine Award from the Maine Library Association and the 2018 Maine Literary Award for Young People’s Literature from the Maine Writers & Publishers Alliance. Gillian released her second young adult novel, The Lies They Tell, in May of 2018 and her next book, The Missing Season, was released in May of 2019.

As many of you know, Bissell Brothers Brewing Company in Portland was founded by Peter Bissell and his brother Noah in 2013. Last year they expanded at 157 Elm Street in Milo, named Bissell Brothers Three Rivers. The Bissells grew up in Milo, and they’re hoping the brewery will encourage people to visit their small town. The brewery is open Fridays through Sundays and will offer food from Spruce Mill Farm & Kitchen along with eight rotating beers on tap.

That’s all for now — please email me anytime with updates!
