Happy spring, classmates! Hope this column finds you enjoying warmer temperatures, greener ground, and bluer skies. News about our classmates will also brighten up your post-winter mood. If you have news to share, please send it my way to include in the next column.

Brian St. Pierre ’12G is the director of performance nutrition at Precision Nutrition, a research-driven, web-based coaching community that works with fitness professionals and professional sports teams including the San Antonio Spurs, Cleveland Browns, and Calgary Flames. Brian also helped to author The Essentials of Sports and Exercise Nutrition, a textbook used by Precision Nutrition to certify over 50,000 fitness and nutrition coaches. Brian lives in Scarborough with his wife and three young children.

Joshua Nadeau has been awarded the 2017 State Star by the Maine Small Business Development Centers (SBDC). Joshua is a center director and certified business advisor for Maine SBDC at Northern Maine Development Commission in Caribou. During his two years with the Maine SBDC, Joshua has helped to start 23 businesses, create and retain 154 jobs, and generate almost $6.5 million dollars in capital. He was honored with the other state SBDC top performers in Nashville in September 2017 at their national conference. Congratulations, Joshua!

Gary Trempe successfully completed the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor Professional Designation Program from the College for Financial Planning and the Accredited Investment Fiduciary designation program from the Center for Fiduciary Studies. Gary is a financial advisor at S&B Financial Services at Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution, Maine’s oldest bank. Gary is currently a resident of Biddeford and has worked for S&B Financial since 2012. Congratulations, Gary!

Joshua Randlett has been recognized as a New England Rising Star by Super Lawyers, a rating service that recognizes lawyers with a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Joshua is an attorney at Rudman Winchell, a law firm in Bangor. Congratulations!

Liam Gallagher was named the new human resources director for the town of Scarborough. Liam was formerly the human resources director for the town of York before transitioning to his new job in September 2017. Before working in York, Liam gained human resources experience with the city of Westbrook and the Westbrook School Department. He is also certified as a Professional in Human Resources by both the Human Resources Certification Institute and the Society for Human Resources Management. Good luck in your new position, Liam!

Edward D. Hatch G was named the new Deer Isle-Stonington High School principal and grade 7-12 athletic director. Previously, Edward was a physical education teacher, assistant principal, and athletic director at Bucksport High School. Edward is already familiar with the families of CSD 13 through his role of Sensai at Tracy’s Institute of Self Defense in Deer Isle. The students at Deer Isle-Stonington are lucky to have you!

Shawn Demaray ’08G joined the football coaching staff at Husson University as the running backs coach. Shawn previously coached the offensive line and strength and conditioning at Husson in 2009 and 2010. Shawn is returning to Husson after serving as the defensive coordinator at John Bapst Memorial High School in Bangor and five years on the coaching staff at the University of Maine. Shawn also played football while a student at UMaine. Congratulations, Shawn!
