Class of 2010 Winter 2021 Class Note

Hello, Class of 2010! I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during this
unprecedented year.

The Kennebec Estuary Land Trust is dedicated to protecting the land, water, and
wildlife of the Kennebec Estuary. This year they elected our classmate Travis
Wolfel to be the new board secretary. Travis graduated in 2010 with a degree in
engineering and will be a valuable member of their board as they continue their
work to preserve the Kennebec Estuary for public enjoyment.

Brent West is also using his University of Maine education to preserve areas of
the state for public enjoyment. After graduating from UMaine he received a
masters’ degree in ecosystem health and natural resources management from
the University of Maryland. He was recently hired as the executive director of the
High Peaks Alliance in Farmington. The High Peaks Alliance is a nonprofit
organization in western Maine dedicated to preserving the area and keeping it
accessible for outdoor enthusiasts.

CES, Inc is an engineering, surveying, sciences, planning, and other related
services consulting firm and just announced some promotions within the
organization. One of the promotions was Andrea Dickinson, who was previously
a project professional and has been promoted to a project manager and project
engineer within the environmental division. Andrea has been with CES since
2010.

Christopher Richards ’17G was named vice president of enrollment management
at the University of Maine. Chris served as interim vice president for enrollment
management for the past year and is a member of the President’s Cabinet. He
has worked in admissions for several years. Besides his admissions work, Chris
is also a professional Maine guide.

As always, please remember that if you or another classmate has experienced a
personal or professional accomplishment or has news to share with the class,
send me a note through email or social media so it can be included in future
columns.

Have a great winter and spring and I look forward to catching up with you all
soon.
