Class of 2014 Summer 2023 Class Note

Thank you to Joshua Morse for writing this column for the past several years. The Class of ’14 needs someone to step into that position and report the class news for the winter and summer magazines. Please contact abigail.zelz@maine.edu to find out what this entails. It’s not a tough job — it’s not at all like an academic paper or lab report!

In class news — Morgan Kinney ’16G and Christine Gilbert both participated in an Honors College webinar last winter, and talked about their Honors College thesis work with current students. Morgan is the associate director of domestic programs and partnerships at Rice University in Houston, TX, and Christine is an assistant professor of climate communication at Stony Brook University.

Zachary Porter works at Baker Newman Noyes as senior manager in the information systems and risk assurance practice. He has been with the firm since 2015, working with a range of clients in different capacities.

In Wiscasset, Erin Phillips Sturgeon is a school counselor at the elementary school, and the mother of two children.

Liz Reynolds is director of preservation at Barba+Wheelock Architecture, which is based in Portland. She joined the firm in 2021 and has worked on fire suppression drawings for Acadia National Park gatehouses and helped produce condition assessment reports for buildings in Bath and Brunswick.

Elissa Bate Tremblay ’21G is a nurse practitioner at the primary and walk-in care practice of Waldo County General Hospital in Belfast.

On campus, Renee Kelly G serves as assistant vice president for innovation and economic development for the University of Maine. In that capacity, she serves as a liaison to Maine’s economic development community, looking for ways to partner with organizations to improve the state’s economy.

Have a great summer, everyone, and please consider becoming the writer for the 2014 column.
