Hello, fellow Class of 2019 Black Bears! The Class of 2019 is contributing substantially to their communities around New England.
Benjamin McLaughlin’s career took a step up after he was promoted to assurance manager at Baker Newman Noyes in August 2024. According to his company’s website, “He specializes in providing auditing and assurance services to companies in the banking and financial services, commercial, and governmental industries.” BNN is one of New England’s fastest-growing regional accounting and advisory firms.
IIS Financial Services hired Colby Perigo as a client planning associate. He helps individuals, families, and employers with Maine connections pursue their financial and retirement planning goals.
As the director of the Mid-Coast School of Technology in Rockland, Robert Deetjen G helps students from 21 towns develop their career and technical skills through programs including auto collision, English/tech communications, baking and pastry, small engines/compact diesel, and welding/metal fabrication. In his personal life, the University of Maine at Farmington honored him with an induction into their Hall of Fame for his outstanding basketball career during the 2001-2005 seasons.
On a personal note, my sons, Noah ’25 and Matthew Lambert ’20, are putting their UMaine degrees to work in their fields. My husband, Jim, and I are very proud of our two Black Bears and UMaine’s continued part of our lives.
