Class of 2020 Summer 2023 Class Note

The Class of 2020 continues to excel in many avenues locally and globally!

Inside the classroom, Julianna Cleaves was awarded the honor of being named the Outstanding Graduate Assistant in KPE at the University of Maine.

Julia Casey and Emma Pooler both graduated from Maine Law this May and are spending the summer studying for the bar. Upon completion, Emma will begin at Eaton Peabody and Julia hopes to enter into family law after taking some much-deserved time off.

On the ice, UMaine Hockey alums Mitch Fossier, Pat Shea, and Tim Doherty had a record-setting season with the Portland-based ECHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins, the Maine Mariners. Mitch will be playing his second 3ICE season this summer.

At the 2022 Winter Olympics, former UMaine Women’s Ice Hockey star Tereza Vanisova represented the Czech Republic. She also scored the game-winning goal in overtime during the championship game for the Premier Hockey Federation for her team, the Toronto Six.

Carly Jackson, a teammate of Tereza’s on the Toronto Six, has quickly made her own mark on the PHF, with the Toronto Star naming her one of the league’s most beloved players. Carly won all five of her starts, posting a 1.90 GAA and a .926 save percentage.
