Guest Speaker, Donna Loring ’86, ’17 Hon. L.H.D.
Donna Loring is a lifelong advocate for Native rights, a U.S. Army veteran, and a former tribal representative in the Maine Legislature. She authored the landmark law requiring Wabanaki history be taught in Maine schools and initiated the historic “State of the Tribes Address” to the Legislature. A published author and host of the award-winning radio program Wabanaki Windows, Loring has received numerous honors for her work in civil rights, education, and public service. She currently serves on the University of Maine System Board of Trustees.
