The 2025 Black Bear Road Trip kicked off in Phoenix, Arizona in February. Alumni and friends gathered for an annual reception and dinner at a local restaurant. Jeff Mills, President/CEO of the UMaine Foundation attended from Orono providing news and updates from campus.

The Florida leg of the Trip took place in March, starting in The Villages on March 9. Area-alumni met at The Villages Polo Club to take in a polo match and have a tailgate lunch. From The Villages polo cheerleaders, to the stunning horses and talented riders, to the UMaine camaraderie and reminiscing, this annual event is always a wonderful time!
Two days later, on March 11, the Alumni Association hosted our largest off-campus alumni event at JetBlue Park for a Red Sox spring training game. Over 250 alumni and friends flowed into the Park for a BBQ lunch and to watch the game from our alumni sections in the stands. Alumni ranging from the Classes of 1953 to the 2000’s had a great time cheering on the Sox and celebrating our Black Bear pride!
The Alumni Association then headed for the East Coast of Florida, hosting a meet up in Palm Coast. Alumni and friends filled the steins and had a great evening getting together. We can’t wait to visit the East Coast again in the future!
Our latest Road Trip stop took place in South Carolina! Our Lowcountry chapter enjoyed their annual lobster picnic on April 5. Thank you to all of the Chapter volunteers who make this event possible every year!
