Centennial Celebration!

Portland Alumnae was founded in 1926, and in 2026 we proudly celebrate 100 years! We look forward to honoring a century of friendship, leadership, and lasting impact. Stay tuned for details about a special celebration event!

One meaningful way we are commemorating our Centennial is by growing the Portland Alumnae Scholarship Fund, which supports UMaine students from York and Cumberland County high schools.

Thanks to the generosity of some of our members, we have already reached our initial goal of $2,000! In response, Christine Johnson ’82 has committed an additional $1,000 to match the next $1,000 we raise. Every gift made to our scholarship fund (up to $1,000) will be matched dollar-for-dollar through April 2, 2026 (the date of our meeting). That means:

A $10 gift becomes $20

•

A $20 gift becomes $40

•

When we reach our $3,000 goal, it becomes $6,000 for student scholarships.
