The Weston Family

Fogler Legacy Award Recipient

The Weston family was honored with the Fogler Legacy Award in recognition of their deep ties to the University of Maine. Beginning with the first graduating class in 1872, the Weston family includes numerous members who have earned degrees at UMaine and have had careers in engineering, science, education, and other endeavors. Peter Weston ’78 has been especially involved with the College of Engineering and Maine Folklife Center. The most recent family member to graduate from UMaine is fourth generation Black Bear Andrew Cyr ’03, a public health scientist for the State of Alaska.
