Each year the UMaine Alumni Association recognizes Black Bears who have achieved outstanding career success and/or have contributed significantly and admirably to the betterment of UMaine.

These Alumni Achievement Awards are based on nominations submitted to the Alumni Association, reviewed by a special thirteen-member committee, and ultimately ratified by the Alumni Association Board of Directors.
